Faridabad demands stronger and smarter policing for everyone!

Haryana Vidhansabha Elections 2019, Yuva Perspectives

A local Congress leader named Vikas Chaudhary was shot dead today morning while he was coming out of the gym. The attackers who are also visible in the CCTV camera installed at the gate of a nearby facility clearly show that the attackers were so fearless that they did not even bother to mask their faces.

Yesterday too, a girl who resisted teasing in broad day-light was stabbed by the assailant. A passer-by turned to help her but the attacker fled away from the spot.

Other than these, a person from Heerapur village was shot dead while he was on his way to work.

3 gruesome events in a day with a lot of others that may have gone unreported, the city is truly becoming a Jungle for wild ‘bad characters’ of the area. The police here is so inefficient and numb that even the local street-side goons do not fear them. In many of the cases like snatching, they do not even hesitate to turn down the complainant saying that they do not believe something of that sort might have happened.

The local smugglers of liquor and illegal drugs are totally protected by police in lieu of protection money that they pay to the police on various occasions. Couple of years back, a family close to a BJP MLA was beaten on road in broad day light by some illegal liquor smugglers and his relatives. The police would haven’t even bothered to register the complain it was a common man. Thankfully, the MLA handled the event in a very tactical manner that lead to a compromise and deescalated the tension between the group. Otherwise, the results could have been such that the family was ready to take the legal matter in their hands to teach the accused a good lesson.

But everyone in the city doesn’t have that kind of power and resources. If the police do not cooperate with all the residents the way they treat the illegal mafia, why to have the police at all? I think the young officers who have been appointed purely based on their skills and talents must take the matter in their cognizance and take strict corrective measures to reduce the exponentially rising crime rate in the city.

Strong, exemplary and instantaneous actions are must when dealing with the criminals. They commit a crime, get accused and are later granted bail to continue their wrongdoings that that had been doing for years. Sometimes, they grow so stronger (thanks to the law and no trust in the police) that the public fears even to report the incidents to the police.

The city needs strong leadership, stronger laws and even stronger enforcement of the laws. Without having the basic establishment, the newly emerged rich class that has become so by selling their farming land, the criminals turned so fancied by rowdy lifestyle projected on the social media and the emerging Bahubalis of illegal trade would continue to make life hell out of the city.
